BER01, a state-of-the-art data center, is being built in Berlin's Schmargendorf district in the new GoWest commercial quarter. Located between Mecklenburgische Straße and Forckenbeckstraße, the site offers optimal infrastructure conditions for continuous 24/7 operation thanks to its proximity to the Ringbahn, the U3 subway line at Heidelberger Platz, and the city highway.
BER01 is designed as a single-tenant data center and fits perfectly into the approved district concept. This integrated planning reduces interfaces, speeds up approval and construction processes, and minimizes planning risks for construction and operation.
The location stands for sustainability and technical efficiency: power supply from renewable sources, adiabatic cooling, and photovoltaic systems stabilize operating costs and reduce the CO2 footprint. A key feature is the use of waste heat from the servers, which is fed into the neighborhood and used for local heat supply.
With around 5,100 m2 of IT space and an output of approximately 8.2 MW, BER01 meets the requirements for a high-performance, future-oriented data center while setting standards in terms of energy efficiency, ESG compliance, and urban integration.
ARGOS is responsible for technical construction management in the project, focusing on quality, costs, and deadlines. Our services include monitoring construction work, reviewing additional contracts and invoices, and coordinating all project participants until commissioning and handover.
